SUMMARY
I've confirmed change of direction after consultation with Matt late yesterday I will now focus on Home. Today I intended to work in Storyboard Pro and make the second half of the animatic. (I made the first half in Photoshop and whilst that was NOT a fun experience, it is now the starting point for Folio 2.)
I'm printed a copy of the storyboard and put it up on my studio wall – really helpful for referencing and making changes as they occur during the production. (And something I noticed in lots of the storyboard research.)
I kept building the set of ideas that started after Wyn's talk (so inspiring) but as they occuedr with no explicit plans to work on them.
I was unable to activate Storyboard Pro till late in the evening. Perhaps a good thing.
I spent most of the day on the storyboard and discovered that I was solving lots of little problems including the form of the template itself. I have made a modular template so that the borders/boxes etc don’t cramp my drawing/thinking but action/sound etc can be introduced in stages. (I need one to make another adjustment for dialogue and timing.)
During consultaion with Matt I articulated some of the problems the storyboard had thrown up (resolved by talking them out). When he asked about my character I found a description – “sophisticated stick figure” and see I need to accompany the animatic with some character studies/explorations.
