Reflection

The past-future coupling relationship is more obvious on other mechanics, the dualist of growing up and shrink back on the tree is a good way to implement the animation principles learned from the animated icons. For the icons with similar shrink-growth animation, the motion can be separated into two kinds: the main motion which indicates the general movement of the whole body, the sub-motion which controls that how each component is animated. In the dualities of tree and seedling, the main motion is the connection of two stages, and sub-motion provides a stronger expression. So through iterations since week 8, I divided the components of seedling and tree and apply these two motions to them. The initial version is simply animated by the swipe of line and mask. During the second iteration, I use the C# script to animate its overall scaling attribute and added pop up animations to the tree. In the final iteration, I added follow up of leaves and exaggerate the bounce of pop up animations.
