In response to the theme of observation, I made a short looping animation using autodesk Maya to model the cups and animate them. I also used adobe premier to render out the playblast into a video.By creating this piece i show how observing a simple object reveals more of its uderlying meaning through what my expirences are. To me the coffee cups are something that seems to grow unweildly throuhout the week. The piece shows constant piling and removing of cups, which is akin to how a week progresses, getting more hectic and chaotic in the middle and finally with the release of the weekend, the chaos dies down.
Similar work can be seen in the short animation 'Everyday Life' (Marinski, 2017), where a static tv is used to represent how a mundane activity becomes an indicator of time spent. The clock here is also used to further the passage of time. Furthermore all else in the scene is static - drawing attention to the focal point of the scene.
