Aim:
Three short animated sequences to experiment with the stillness in the animation.
Method: Photoshop, Sai
Result:
The first one: Focus on the environment, keep the scene unchanged, and increase the motion design on this basis.
The second one: Focus on character interaction, and increase the dynamics only through the changes of perspective and the camera movement.
The third: keep the relative position of the character and the scene intact.
Aim:
The two rhythms are displayed in animation through sound design and motion design, while the information is conveyed by the contrast of fast rhythm and slow rhythm.
Method:
Sound Design
Result:
The result of this exercise is to keep the speed of the character‘s motion at the original speed and change the speed of the sound effect.
Discussion:
Apart from motion design, adding sound effects is to add supplement information, such as slower footsteps and the sound of butterflies waving wings, which can better reflect the depression of the characters' emotions.
Aim:
This week's theme is to explore how pacing affects animation.
Method:
2Danimation, Procreate
Results: I decided to animate a cat in this exercise and use 3 different rhythms to see what would happen. Test 1 was 6 frames per second, test 2 was 12 frames per second and added some intermediate frame drawing. Test 3 modified the rhythm of tail wagging and jumping based on test 2.
Discussion:
It seems that the rhythm of the action conveys different emotions that affect the effect of the animation. Reference:https://youtu.be/EKvNqe8cKU4
