Play&Natural
Theme: The name of the theme is Natural Palette, and the first thing that came to my mind was a green forest. Xincheng and I are sharing this week, so I did a lot of research on Natural beforehand. I was inspired by the fact that some people use the shape of natural creatures to create their works, and some use the biological characteristics of natural creatures to create their works. Although air and water and animals are also part of Natural, I still can't forget about plants, so I decided to start with this part to complete this theme.
Context: After determining the direction of the plants, I was walking around the neighborhood and I suddenly realized that there were so many kinds of plants around us and they were so colorful. It had just rained so many leaves and flowers that hadn't died, and I began to look at them carefully. Where I was, it was the season when spring turns to summer and many leaves change color as they grow. The same tree, the same kind of leaves have unique colors at different times, and they all exist on the same tree. So I picked and picked up some nice flowers and leaves to take home, and as I studied their shapes and extracted and studied their colors, I realized that nature actually knows how to match colors so well, and I loved the color scheme. So I went downstairs and purposefully searched for some leaves, based on color.

Method:
1. Go downstairs and find a plant you like and pick one of its leaves at different stages of maturity. Repeat, picking several more plants.
2. Arrange them in shades of color, make sure the white backing (this helps you see the colors) expose the photo and process the photo.
3. Put the photo into PS, extract the color of the leaves and make a color card.
4. This last step is the most important, in these color cards, find their coherence and finally they will form a color ring. Then place the leaves according to the color ring to take pictures. You then get a plot natural palette.
Reflection:In this week's assignment, my thinking was not as clear as before, although this happens from time to time, and I used to think it was a bad point because it slowed down my efficiency. But after this assignment, I think maybe this is the process of exploring the inspiration of the topic, and what I need to train is to summarize and organize these inspirations after brainstorming, and then come up with a result, rather than avoiding my own divergent thinking, which can limit my imagination.
For this assignment, I was going to create square chromatograms to arrange them, arrange and build the plants into squares, and then create square chromatograms. But I felt that this would have lost some of the natural part and less of the surprise that I found in their colorfulness. Because with the advancement of technology, such Palette can be found everywhere on the computer, and the precious thing is that they are made by nature. So in the end, I chose to arrange the Palette in the way the plants are supposed to look, which I think is more in line with my intention.
The ADP class is a great way to get out and play with nature, which I think is very meaningful. There are many animals in nature, and I think if I come across a natural theme again, I will choose to play with animals, which will definitely add a lot of fun. I regret that I didn't make a dynamic work this time, because from a professional point of view, perhaps a dynamic work is closer to our profession. There are a lot of plants in nature, and there are botanists who look for them and compile them into a book. But there are colors in nature that no one specializes in finding and collecting, and I think I will probably continue this experiment in my free time, this time just collecting colors around my home.
I also regret that I wanted to make a palette of flowers, but I searched all the flowers in the garden and there were only five kinds: blue-violet, deep fuchsia, light fuchsia, big red and yellow. They were hard to form a color ring because they lacked the two middle colors, blue and green, and didn't work well together. So I just gave up. I think in my next free time I will choose to find more flowers and make a flower palette.
But this time, I feel that the assignment is a bit thin, maybe because it is only a static image that does not fit the professional scope and direction of MAGI. In the next last ADP class, I would like to bravely try interaction design to interpret the theme. For each week's creative theme, I always unconsciously think in a graphic direction, maybe I should have a dynamic and playful thinking to think about each week's assignment and respond to each week's theme. When faced with a theme with no idea, and it suddenly comes to me while brainstorming, I can't wait to implement the idea. But sometimes, it may be necessary to think about the ideas and consider them more, to have a few more options and then choose the best one. In subsequent assignments, I will incorporate this thinking to ensure that this is my best choice.
