Week 11 Stillness

METHOD:

I used circles to represent sound with After Effects.

This video used squares to visualize music. Those squares linked with each other and the influence of each square created a big power and exciting emotion, which matched the rhythm of the music. I learn from this video the movement of the simple pattern can also create different feelings of sound.

RESPONSE:

The stillness was relative, it's framed by the things around it. So I made an audio-visual video. There were 5 circles linked with each other in the video. With the sound changed, the circles started moving and affecting each other. I tried to use these symbols to visualize sound. It was really interesting to do this exercise. After combining the sound effects with the circles' movement, these circles looked alive. It gave me inspiration that the elements can affect each other by the sound effects in animation.
