Theme: Place

Context: 

David Lynch's film, Blue Velvet, begins to tell the story through the setting: we are introduced to an idyllic small town setting, details like the firetruck waving at you as a known neighbour as it passes by are interspersed with increasingly shocking images of violence starting with a gun in a black and white movie to an unattached human ear set upon by bugs.

Method:

Create a 360 degree panoramic sketch of Albert Park Lake at sunrise

Response:

The setting for my proposed VR experience is Albert Park Lake at sunrise. This setting holds the promise of a new start as the light slowly but perceptibly grows, as the distant hum of traffic grows louder and deeper, and the morning birdsongs announce each turning moment. I've tried to capture the moment when the flat-silhouetted swans become three dimensional as the nightsky lifts and daylight washes over the world. This is the moment embodies my aspiration to be skilled at accepting and being in the present moment, of embracing the full catastrophe that makes up my now.

I wanted to create this in photoshop to get my head around a 360 degree created environment before I start playing with skydomes and movement in Unity.
