1 RATIONALE: Intention  

In studio1, I’ll test the methods of how transitions enhance storytelling. In terms of space and time, I’ll focus on that under the same context different stories happened. In my folio 1 projects, I'll pick different scenes, and present them through 3d animations. I hope the qualities of my projects could be improved through this practice.

 2 CONTEXT: Field 

The transitions of films are the technique in terms of editing. Many different types of transitions have been employed since the early years of cinema. Some are outdated, used mainly to refer to those first years, but others are still greatly used today. Each type invokes a different emotion. Understanding those emotions is essential to master editing. And it is a powerful factor for the filmmaker to manipulate with time and space. Which is crucial for storytelling.

3 COHESION:

The scenes are all for practising transition skills. The hierarchy of all the pieces is :Transition_scenes(same context)_events_ contrast between events_Lighting_Modeling_Texture_Sounds.

4 Management

The concept of transition will be my first consideration in each scene. Besides,3d-Modeling, Texture, lighting and animation, compositing skills will also be studied during folio1. I will keep exploring all the skills that I could help me express my idea. 

For folio 1, this is the table schedule below, I was trying to create one scene each week from week3, however, there are too many works to do, and the rendering is also quite time-consuming. Thus, it turns out one and a half weeks could be complete one scene.
