Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

We’ve been asked to create a Digital Documentation of what we wanted to do for our Studio 4 work. I’ve already shared one idea I had with Matt but we’ve both agreed that this idea could potentially go in circles where no real answer is drawn due to its broadness and subjectiveness.

So over the weekend I thought of what else I could potentially do and I wanted to tackle something that was a continuation of the theme I chose for Studio 2 and 3. I focused on the utilization of movements for storytelling, where I even opted out additional details such as facial features, dialogue and character design so that it accentuated the movements. To successfully do this I would have had to rigorously study the principles of animation.

For Studio 4 I thought of trying to connect this in some way with Chris’ lecture on Tools and Tradition. There are a multitude of programs 2D animators can use to create their work. Each has their own user interface and features that their counterpart can’t do as well. So I was wondering in what way the tool we choose to use shapes the way we create our work, and in essence change the way we tackle certain principles of animation.
