Folio Plan
Rational
I wanted to make a 2D animation of what it's like to lie in bed when you have a cold and want to sleep because when you're sick, your nose, ears, eyes, and throat hurt. There will be a stuffy nose, dry eyes, sore throat, irritated ears, etc. The fever caused by a cold can confuse the brain. I wanted the entire animation to be very colorful. I wanted to express these symptoms in an abstract animation form, but in the end, there would be specific characters acting as if they had a cold. I hope to combine abstract animation with ordinary two-dimensional animation. In the first half, abstract animation is used to blur the audience's cognition of this animation story, and when the truth is revealed at the end, the audience will feel a sudden realization.
Context
Abstract animation is to shape the development of the entire storyline by creating abstract characters and unique background music, colors, symbols, and other design elements and adopting the theory of abstraction to shape the development of the entire story. It is precisely because the abstract animation blurs the specific characters and the real story development context so that the appreciator can fully play to their imagination and read their unique artistic feeling from the works.
I divided the animation into seven segments, the first is physical discomfort, the second is blocked nose, the third is throat inflammation, the fourth is eye pain, the fifth is tinnitus, the sixth is brain confusion, and the last is the protagonist getting up Found out that I had a fever. The first six paragraphs are abstract forms, and the previous paragraphs are concrete forms.
Self Assessment
I once made a concise abstract animation in the APD class, but because of the time, I made it very rudimentary. This time I will make a conceptual animation of nearly two minutes, which is difficult for me. Still, I believe it is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about how to use abstract images to express the story content of the animation.
Production pipeline and production schedule
After negotiating with Kate this week, I arranged the work plan for the first six weeks. I will complete the character design in the first two weeks, and I will complete the storyboard in the third and fourth weeks. It is essential to sort out the order of the whole work. Important. In weeks 5 and 6, I will complete the animate. Here is the schedule for the first six weeks. I asked my friend Jane to be the sound designer, and in Studio 2, she also worked on the sound design.
