After conferring with my peers, I found the characters with stronger eyebrows and no eyes were popular. To continue this idea with different iterations, I scribbled out another sheet. This one has a much more prominent 'grumpy old man' vibe. 

Kate also gave the feedback that to fit into my animation, less detail was probably more suitable. The humans in my piece are not the focal characters, and I don't want the design to build the wrong impression.
