In these two weeks, I have been working on both pop-up book building and animation for AR. Continue the work from wk 1- 2, I tested out the short animation clip with EyeJack. I have managed to get the clip working with my prototype page.
I have worked on the narrative for the book. I’m having voice over for the narrative. I have asked a friend to do the voice over for me. We will have the first take this week, just to get an idea of the time for each page and the whole book, so I can work on the animatic accordingly.
For the book building, I went through a few pop-up mechanism tutorials. Due to the time constrain, I have decided to apply only two types of mechanism in the book. Between the test pages, I tried to figure out a good size for crafting the pop-up and a size not too big that I won’t be able to finish all the component within the project time frame.
Sound effect & BGM
I will have voice over for the narrative. For background music, I would probably have something that creates a story-telling time mood. I am looking for license music from artlist.io for placeholder for now. I’m also consider having some sound effect for each character as speaking tune.
In week 5, I will continue working on the illustration of each page and plan out the following pop-up art. In order to better scope of each animation clip, I will work on the animatic of the AR animation for each page. Based on previous two experiment with the prototype and AR test, each animation clip is about 10 seconds approximately. I will also test out the character sound effect.
In week 6, I will start building the actual size of the book and the components for the pop-ups. I will continue having discussion with my friend for the voice over, explaining the scene with the animatic.
