Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

Over the past week I’ve continued to work on my minor project animation. I have begun to take into account the feedback I’ve received last week and started to incorporate it into my project.

One of the feedback was to continue to delve into looking at references to explore different ideas while simultaneously learning about the intricacies and techniques the artists use in their animation that accentuates the principles of animation.

As I’ve been animating the “story” somewhat permissively, I noticed that as I begin to animate into the more outlandish territory and veer away from the bipedal character with human traits (Not being flexible/malleable), the effect I’m trying to go for is very reminiscent of “No Face” from “Spirited Away”.

I’m specifically referring to the messy gloop within the scene and how it engenders fear. The entity doesn’t feel like it can be contained or fettered. I want to convey a similar tone where as I swerve away from the anthropomorphic character, the animation becomes more unbridled. I’ve also attempted to make the background more lively through the rippling effect to make it seem more like a pond to another world rather than a static wall.
