This is just the first layer of game mechanics which outlines the overall game events that are going to happen throughout the game. It is a general glance of rules and possible actions of player and other game agents during the entire game. Nothing very specific at this moment and everything is subject to change (if it makes it better). More layers will be added in as I keep developing in the next two or three weeks and they will articulate these mechanics with more specific rules and details.
Defend the grand Sanctuary of human’s last hope against the dark intruders of the Doomstroid.
(Note: Player should able to collect celestial power either through combating waves or managing companions. However, to maximize it player is encouraged to play both parts of gameplay).
(Note: this can be a mini boss type encounter where Hera battle against an AI controlled boss and its minions, some critical resource of Hera should be spent during each encounter)
Health, slowly regenerates overtime (from NPC), regens when Hera donates collected celestial power to the Core stone, regens when Companion produces celestial power (overtime).
When Health <0 all damage is delt to the Core Stone.
Health, does not regen, if al lost mission fails.
Powers the Magic Shield, Hera can boost the Shield strength by interacting with the Stone.
Hera can combat enemies using her own skill system (or items also).
Hera can command her companions’ special power, and use her own Zodiac power to boost companions’ performance, e.g.
Hera Zodiac power 1 – “Taurus themed” – Companion C now produce double celestial power.
Hera needs to ‘collect’ celestial power.
The celestial power will boost Hera’s strength (damage/health etc).
Hera can boost the Shield strength by donating celestial power to the core stone, but she losses some of her strength. (conflict, her companion should have something to do here to resolve this but only once a while, management challenge for player).
Player can summon multiple companions to help them defend the Core Stone, different companions have different Zodiac powers and roles. Enemy killed will give experience to all companions and level them up, when they level-up they can choose to learn from a range of special Zodiac powers in the skill pool, but only x amount at a time.
All companions can execute their special Zodiac power on Hera’s command, Hera can buff companions with her own power to boost their attacks or other special abilities too.
Companion A – specialized on eliminating enemy – Fire
(Base attack 1, Base attack 2, Skill 1 2 3… etc.)
Special Zodiac power 1 – whenever Hera has enough celestial power, A will execute a powerful fire blast to enemies in an area. If Hera boosts A while it is channeling this skill, the blast will hit all enemies in a straight line in front of him.
Companion B – specialized on holding and controlling enemy – Earth
Companion C – specialized on producing celestial power as well as mending allies.
(If in multiplayer mode, there will be no companion but player-controlled character like Hera to fulfill those roles, however game mode may shift to very combat heavy or, more enemy mechanics need to be added in in order to provide efficient gameplay for all players.)
Wave is a combination of different enemies, grows stronger as game progress.
Wave enemies weaken the magic shield, I the shield health <0 they will attack the Core Stone.
Wave coming every X second (probably every 30s - 1 min).
Wave enemies drop celestial power for Hera to collect.
Enemy Siege Weapon:
Siege weapon is a robotics-evil hybrid-ish boss that deals considerable damage over time to the Shield and Core Stone (if shield is gone).
It will happen multiple times (3-5 times-ish) during the game.
Hera need to deal with this boss (alone but companion can help from far?) to seize its attack to the shield, big combat here for Hera.
Defeating the siege weapon will give Hera an artifact reward (which gives something new/good? to Hera, economy)
Rifts will be summoned in the middle and later stage of the game.
Rifts will transport enemies directly in the Sanctuary city, bypassing the Shield, and damage the Core Stone if not delt with.
Rift enemies are stronger than Wave enemies and have special mechanics.
Hera and her Companions should fight together against Rift enemies
Help battle the waves and repair the Shield, but they can only offer limited effort.
NPCs can offer other additional resources to the game economy if needed – e.g.
