After my consult this week with Matt, we found that my first priority for my project was to start getting sketches and drafts down asap
My current vision for this project is a series of cinemagraphs documenting the emotional impact that isolation has had on the experience of lockdown. I want to explore through an emotionally charged and intimate lens the feeling of being in a global lockdown
These thumbnails are from an exercise that we did in PPP on Friday by getting down as many iterative designs down as quickly as possible. From this exercise, I was able to visually articulate moments from quarantine that have impacted me, such as rollerskating, difficulty sleeping, and feelings of loneliness. My next stage will be deciding how I want to construct my series, what story I want to tell, and how I will refine the designs that I have made.
One of my first small tests has been a success: I wanted to create an infinitely looping gif that is zooming in forever on a character's eye, revealing that character within their eye. I used Adobe Animate and After Effects to do this, and the fact that I figured out how to do it painlessly is giving me hope for further tests
