Hope is a first-person interactive experience about human emotions chaos, regret, privilege, transformation, and self-discovery. It's an emotional journey, a reflection on the past, a quest for identity. There have been many unconventional video games like Dear Esther, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Hope is distinguished by its abstract use of metaphors, minimalism, open-ended narrative structure. This interactive piece attempts to simulate the notion of 'stuck in the past' by incorporating sound with simple puzzle-solving. It's driven by noises rather than relying on dialogues to communicate the metaphors. It encourages exploration to encounter various events in a vast misty environment to re-enact them.
I am making an emotional interactive experience by creating an ambiguous story in a virtual environment. Because I want to find out how noises rather than dialogues can be utilised to create an emotional interactive experience. To help my field understand that rather an unconventional game that investigates metaphorical concepts can also be rewarding in terms of immersion as well as traditional games.
