I know this doesn't look like much. I was mainly sketching little things out while I thought about my inquiry and I don't think it really came across. I'm not really a drawer or a mindmapper.
I wasn't sure where to start with this. After the intensive workshop I wanted to spend more time trying to pre-produce something and knew that that would probably be something that was informed by my time as GM for various tabletop roleplaying games with friends. I started doodling scenes and things from campaigns I have made before as I remembered them. I want to be able to bring some of these stories to an animated piece, in a way that might make tabletop RPGs more accessible and excited to people who may have not played before, while also feeling fun and familiar to those who have. I find a lot of modern western animated shows that are aimed towards adults look very mechanical and not stylistic, examples being Harmonquest and Big Mouth. Nick Kroll, one of the creators of Big Mouth has mentioned in podcasts how the style for his show was dictated by the other styles of shows aimed at adults, and I would like to look at bridging a gap that exists there for an animated piece to not sacrific quality visuals when being entertaining for adults.
