Work 1: Hunie pop
- Hunie pop is a match 3 game that has creative machinic system on matching 3. Player date with kinds of girls and get their love by challenging a match 3 game.
- Hunie pop did a lot of great changes on traditional match 3 game.
Hunie pop limits the times of moving rather than time.
Every symbol presents an emotion and girls have different like/dislike emotions. Player have to match the emotion their target prefers and avoid matching broken-heart symbol which hurts target.
- Hunie pop changes my thinking on matching 3 game. With different combination of items, there’s several strategies and it becomes a very interesting strategy game. It inspires me a lot on designing a match 3 game.
Work 2: The Binding of Isaac
- The binding of Isaac is a rogue like dungeon exploring game. Player moves between random room, beats random enemies, bosses and get random items.
- The binding of Isaac has great fun on playing but I’d like to focus on its art. It has nearly thousands of items, hundreds of bosses and enemies. Most of those artworks are simple drawing – Big head, simple body even without any detail. But all those are impressive and characteristic.
- Isaac gives me inspiration on 2D game art. It tells me how could a single pixel effects on an icon. Try to draw some less detail but high recognizability artworks is one of my goal in this semester.
