Love Death + Robots is an animated anthology web series from Netflix. It consists of 18 short animation films with different artists and creative team in each films. Every episode consists of a unique and different stories and genre, yet they all have the same main genre: Science Fiction.
Though Love Death + Robots may explore in the genre of science fiction, their translation of each of their own science fiction is completely different. This means that they all tells a completely different stories and perspective of Science Fiction.
In terms of technical side, a specific episode in Love Death + Robots that interests me the most is called “Ice Age”. It tells a simple story of a young couple who just moved into a new apartment and found an old refrigerator with a tiny civilisation living inside their freezer. This is the only short film that uses live-action in the anthology. Though it may not be an animation, it consists of animated 3D modelling and VFX compositions. The technique for this would be creating a 3D modelled civilisation from a 3D CG software and composite it to the specific green/blue screen or markers that was shot.
