RATIONALE: Intention
I want to create a 3D low-interaction game to simply shows the process of natural selection with at least grass and sheep for folio 1. For folio 2, I will add more creatures and terrain to make the natural world in my game more complex, and make the game fun and playable by adding more method that allow players to influence the world. I am interested in creatures since my childhood. Millions of kinds of creatures make our world so amazing, credit to the natural selection. I have played many games that have wonderful natural world, such as ARK: Survival Evolved and Subnautica, there are many different strange species everywhere, formed beautiful worlds. But they all have the same problem, that all of those worlds are totally designed by game developers, that makes them not so real although they are beautiful and fun. I like natural, so I want to play a game with an amazing low-designed, self evolutional world. I don't know if there is one(Please tell me if there is), so I want to make it myself. I know my ability well, so what I want to make now is just a simple one, to test if this idea is possible.
My game for folio 1 will have at least grass and sheep, they would be able to reproduce automatically and change the genes a little bit randomly at each generation. Players can't make too much actions to influence the process of natural selection, mainly observation. This game will looks like an simulator or an experiment in stead of a normal game. I want to see someting unexpectedly by set different starting status and wait for different length of times using this game. It would definitely very fun.
CONTEXT : Field
This game will be similar to a Zero-Player-Game that don't have much interaction, but it will have a little bit in the stage of folio 1, so not a genuine Zero-Player-Game . And it would be a Single-Player game in the stage of folio 2. This game will looks like the Conway's Game of Life but more complex. There will be grass and sheep with many features such as age of maturity, age of natural death, maximum size, color, prefer color of grass to eat(sheep only), amount of food intake, probabality of getting ill and much more. I intend to add more features as much as possible cause it will make the game world much more unpredictable. If time is enough I will also add wolves and try to make wolf, sheep and grass balancing that grass won't be eat out, etc.
METHOD: Conceptual, Technical, Craft & Management
I want to be a game producer, I think I should try different games as much as possible, not only play but also develop. I don't have much experience on develop 3D games so I want to try it. Also this game is much complex on programming than any game I made before, it will be a challenge but also a great chance of practicing my programming skill, which is also important for a game producer. I will learn some 3D modelling for this game if possible.
4 PRODUCTION: Tools
I will use Unity 2019.2.0f1 to develop this game. Due to I feel I will face many problems on programming, I didn't plan to do much art works cause I'm not good at it. I will use simple models or free assets from the asset store. However, if the development is going on smoothly, I will try to learn 3D modelling and use it for my game.
