1 RATIONALE: Intention

For the first 5 weeks of Studio One, due to my lack of knowledge of the pattern of motion. I aim to improve my pattern of motion skill in 2d animation. Also, I would like to explore the possibility of spending some time on Non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) on Maya, which I think is very interesting and could be useful to make different kinds of animation. I want to practice the pattern of motion and familiarity with the software through a combination of Motion graphics animation and frame-by-frame animation.

2 CONTEXT: Field and Site

During the first 5 weeks, I mainly focus on 2D animation, especially Motion graphics animation. 

Recently I really like the work of Jorge R. Canedo E. who is a Creative Director & Owner at Ordinary Folk, the style of his work is impressive. I first knew he was working through their team ‘FITC Toronto 2016 Titles’

Somei, He is a content creator I met a few years ago, and it was he who made me realize how interesting c4d is.

 3 METHOD

To be honest, I may not make an animation with complete plots in these five weeks. I will mainly focus on some different kinds of small exercises to make me better understand the laws of movement and gradually lead to some software that I have not used for a long time. At the same time, I hope to draw some scenes and objects for model production and rendering exercises using rendering plugins on Maya or 3ds max. Of course, I will try to combine modelling, rendering exercises and 2d animation to make some interesting animations.

4 PRODUCTION

For 2d animation, I will use adobe after effect and adobe animate (and some ae plugins)

For rendering exercises, I will use Maya or 3ds max and pencil+4  (Rizom UV may be used if necessary)
