NAME OF WORK: Daily Magic

DIRECTION SECTION

With this work, I intend to explore the grammars of visual effects. This idea is, essentially to show how changing the context of  visual effects are can help immersion and believability. The idea will be expressed as a series of short films that showcase how I can solve the problem of daily life routine by adding visual effects. In the end, I would like to present it with a compilation of those videos and a breakdown video.

ARGUMENT/RATIONALE/GAP SECTION

The reason for doing this work is that, I am always fascinated by the seamless CGI in movies, creating wonders in every frame, nothing is impossible through CGI. Looking back the previous project that I have done, I realize that I have always wanted to create something somewhat magical, bringing magic into our physical realm, like the anamorphic installation and AR "Fireworks" last semester. If successful, the work will exhibit excellence in the field of VFX and video editing. My work will focus mainly on how to create the unexpected effects in creative ways. I will also explore on how to reveal the unexpected to the audience in a clearly and believable.

METHOD SECTION

The software that I plan to use are, Nuke ( finally get to try ), Maya, Mocha, After Effects ( if I fail at nuke ), Photoshop. These are the I can think of for now.
