1)What field/fields/intersection of fields is your research located in?
Image transformation in 2-dimensional form. Linear narrative hand-drawn animation
2)What keywords from these fields are important to your research?
Optical illusions / linear animation / animation metamorphosis / implied narrative / Anamorphic
3)List 1-2 key concepts important to your investigation.
It is to investigate how much information should be released among the imagery series to let people interpret the implied narrative, and what methods can be used on Image transformation in 3D perspective in 2D animation form.
4)What specific issue/problem/intuition are you investigating?
The connection between two images in both meaningful and animatic way.
5)How can you state this as a research Q. or sub Qs?
Main research question:
How can a designer make a series of image transformation through experimenting with three-dimensional perspective in two-dimensional animation form?
Sub questions:
How dose a design of animation engage audiences to explore the animation series with interactivity?
What do I effective release the critical information of the narrative with the linear animation
6)What will you do in your “creative practice” to investigate this issue? or What form will your practice take?
The practice of this investigation would be several black and white animation clips with simple colours for the interactive introduction. Each animation clip is made with a particular design that transfer the outline of the main object to be either another one or to be simply left out.
All the clips will be connecting to the relevant ones along the diagram, in order to support the structure of the hiding narrative.
7) are you using any other methods to support your practice to answer the questions you have posed? What are they? Why are they necessary?
I will try to establish an interactive platform (eg. Website game) to let people test it to know whether the conception works or not
8)Who might this investigation be relevant to outside of your own practice? Why?
Computer game players would be interested in interacting with linear animation constructed by transformative imagery. It is also connected to animation exploration.
