Exploring the concept of "Sylvester" who plays a mentor role to Bones throughout the story. He is a homeless ghost and former taxi in his previous, who lurks around the city. His heart is in the right place and he cares, but he is a little loose and isn't very good at showing it. He lacks the ability to focus for long and avoids showing he is vaunerable. 

He's a little "rough" around the edges and uses humour to hide his nerves and own insecurities. 

Thinking about the character initially conceptualised in animated narratives, I brainstormed a little further around some characterisitcs around him and what he reflects. 

  • Young + Rugged 
  • Pale Skin (similar to Sweeney Todd) 
  • Homeless clothes 
  • Is it see through or not? (opacity) 
  • Is he going to be half a body or full body character as a ghost form? 
  • He's tall + lanky 
  • Rigid features? Prominent Jaw line 
  • Is he warm or Cool 

I created a moodboard to reflect this brainstorming and began to sketch out rough shapes using ProCreate and develop them into silhouettes to reflect his non-verbal communication through his body.
