Moodboard for my IOL project. 

myth is a living thing that we are only able to see in hindsight. i enjoy works that introduce a mythic element into present day environments. whether it is a touch of surrealism in the illustrated works of james jean, the deceptive depths of neil gaiman’s prose or the bombast of bill willingham’s fables,each of them offer escape and armour in equal turn. the thread of otherness that we feel in our lives is rendered for us to feel and ingest without losing our tether to reality. in my work i hope to instill a similar view of our world viewed askance, that i might contribute to a tradition whereby our reality is but a possible outcome amongst a plethora of results. this because i feel that ato take the mundane for granted is a dangerous and insidious oversight. my project will explore the quotidian and find the mythic within. these explorations will take the forms of looping animations, a mode of expression that promises infinity without being ableto deliver it, which we are simultaneosly aware and unaware of while watching.
