Idle/run game character animations that conform to specific game theme

For the IOL project I decide to animate my 3D game character, giving her unique idle/run animation while she is in different states. The game is themed on astrology, zodiac constellations and a fantasy style. The character will have four different states for player to switch between: fire, air, water and earth – same as how astrology using nature elements to describe the 12 zodiac signs. Each element will have its distinct feelings or tendencies:

Fire represents warmth, primal energy and initiative, usually bursts in a short time and can’t last long.

Air is just like wind, free, very mobile, invisible but connects a lot of things.

Water is deep sensitive and emotional. It can be a grace for lives or a tsunami that raging from the sea.

Earth is rock solid, immovable and practical. Enduring all the things happening in this work but most of the time it is quiet and silent.

My goal will be making multiple 3D animations for my character to properly reflect those feelings and tendencies. My focus would be on animate the character’s facial expressions, body language while idle/running, or through other things that the character will possess (such as clothes) if I’m able to include them in my game during this semester.
