Originally, I wanted to use female feticide as the theme for my game. But after coming up with the rules, I figured that this theme is not really enjoyable. The topic of female feticide is too heavy. Players will be pressured to do the morally right action. The fun could be reduced if the players didn't want to choose morally wrong actions.
I did several pieces of research on the theme commonly used in card games. I realized that card games tend to have generic themes. Creators want to make it easy for the players to emerge in the games.
Afterward, I decided to make a card game about the entertainment industry. Players will star as celebrities who want to advance in the industry. They can play safe or play dirty. But be careful, keyboard warriors on the Internet are always watching you.
I try my best to mirror the contemporary industry. From what I learned, the actions need to make sense in the context of the game. For example, a game about architects needs to let players take similar actions to real architects, a game about traders needs to let players take similar actions to real traders, etc.
Role cards:
There are 6 roles cards. One of them is the game master. This role now is The netizen, who represents the people that like to gossip about celebrities.
I also listed out jobs that are common in the show business
After careful judgments, I decided to use the following roles:
Currently, they are the roles that receive the most spotlights.
Action cards:
4 action cards will be dealt with each player (except for the game master). Originally, there will be 2 positive cards and 2 negative cards. I decided to give them new meanings.
Gig cards:
The gig cards are formerly the Main cards. The set consists of 10 cards. There were 2 types: positive cards and negative cards. I now associate them with themes.
Gigs are like the jobs you try to get in the entertainment industry
I then think of several gigs
The idea is to portrait the same gigs positively for the Original gigs and negatively for the Stolen gigs. I decided to choose the following:
I also give my game rules a revision and decide to make some changes.
