John Power, along with the team behind last year's MAGI Expo, talks about the end-of-year showcase, their experiences and lessons learnt, and why it's important to display not only the final product. They also gave us a quick tour of the space in Building 14.
=======================
One part of the panel discussion that really resonated with me was about exhibiting our work-in-progress, and not to be too fussed about the work not being completely "finished". As artists, we want to show our best and final work, and often you'd only see the final product in an exhibition or gallery - i.e. the success that only came after 99 failed iterations. I need to learn how to be vulnerable, and be comfortable with showing work that didn't work out, and to document these lessons learnt.
