Aim: I was aiming to explore the art style and what movement can I incorporate in my upcoming automata.
Method: I used Adobe Illustrator to line my designs then imported all of them into After Effect to animate.
For the bird alone, I had to exported 3 different image files with the bird’s wings in different positions as traditional frame to frame animation.
Result:
There are 3 looped animatics.
Discussion: I would rather do frame to frame next time than using puppet tool in After Effect because the outcome was not ideal and flawed.
Digitalizing would not be my focus; however, I still used this experiment as my prototype for some parts of my automata.
My next steps would be the mechanics of my automata.
