The weekly task in class was around the topic 'animated machines' - creating simple animated machines to depict a particular body movement. The movements I chose to depict were foot tapping, blinking, and breathing. Foot tapping was expressed with a rapid cycled movement; blinking involved the action of moving up and down like eyelids, and breathe focused on expansion/contraction.
This was my first time using ToonBoom so I was very overwhelmed at first! After watching some tutorials and playng around though, I'm happy to say I figured out how to use the timeline and other elements of the interface, including selecting colour. I would use this program again to explore the concept of my project, 'anmating found sound'. Compared to TVPaint, ToonBoom has vector animation features that allow for better manipulation of abstract/vector objects.
