Aim
Explore character design of an AI character in the future time machine with circular shapes

Rationale
When reading through articles about character design, most of them have mentioned the importance of shapes on the feeling of the characters to the audiences. For reliable characters, they are usually presented in circular or square shapes. Nick suggested me to experiment with the circular shapes on the character design.

Result
I've experimented with the circular shape and different relative ratios to create a bunch of different robotic characters. When I played with the circles, the first few results looked like some existing famous characters, eg Kirby, Baymax, Elmo and Kiropi etc. Then, I tried to take reference from some robotic characters when brainstorming new characters. I made them flying or moving with wheels.

Reflection
After brainstorming those characters, I asked many of my friends which one they think would be suitable to be the AI in a time machine invented in the future. The second image shows the collection of choices of them. The robot with the most votes has six votes. I asked my friends why they picked those characters. They said characters that look more like a robot give a sense of the future. Also, robots move by floating or with wheels contribute to the futuristic feeling.
