I reviewed my previous test and realized that the character’s flying animation needs to be further improved. First of all, the imperfect rigging system limits the character’s movement and also increases the difficulty of production. In flying animation, it is obvious that the character’s movement is mechanical, and the wings are not smooth.

I tried to give up rigging wings, instead, I animated the wings with the Bend effect. By using this effect, the wings can bend freely and smoothly, and it is also convenient for my production.

And, for the overall dynamics of the character, I added a C4D-specific animation effect ‘Vibrate’ to the character. This effect allows the model moves up and down, left and right randomly. I use this to simulate the bumpy feeling of birds flying in the sky.
