To amplify and exaggerate the character’s emotions, I explored how to convey the character’s mood through body language. I searched and observed the physical details of the human body when they get emotions. For example, when people are angry, their bodies will tremble slightly and involuntarily, and some even cry when they are angry. After reflecting on that, I created a series of character animations by deforming the bones of the character.

I tested 2 different versions of showing the character’s startle behavior.  First, I lengthened the character’s bones and made it jump high to show it is frightened. Next to that, I felt this animation was not exaggerated and dramatic, so I tried to be more dramatic in the second version. I exaggerated the character's expression and the character's movements: the character's wings held high, waving up and down., and its mouth open In order to make the character look more mentally broken and helpless, I made the character's body sway from side to side, and its pupils constricted and dilated rapidly.
