-What was the main intention/focus of this weeks practice for you?
Make few iterations for my larger project of IOL (also part of my Studio production)
-Where there any specific technical/narrative/visual/movement or design problems guiding your practice?
For my larger project, I would like to create an abstract visual experience. There are a few design principles such as motion, metaphor, use of camera etc.
-How did you go about your making endeavour relating to this intention?
I had a soundtrack I would like to get my animation matched. In order to have a more precise control on the timing, I did some coding to tweak my animation. So that whenever I change that parameter, the processed animation will be automatically updated according to the adjusted parameter.
-How successful were you with this practice? How do you know?
Although I spent quite a bit time on getting the code working, it actually save a lot of time for me afterwards. So I don't have to go back and forth those tedious steps.
-Have you come across any new related works that inform your larger IOL project for the semester?
Yes, and this little coding experiment was done just for my larger IOL project.
-What do you need to iterate further or reiterate in terms of your past practice in coming weeks?
The next step is to create a camera sequence that presents an interesting visual experience.
-Describe one insight you have had about your practice this week?
It is worthwhile to spend some time on thinking about the bases and how they could be optimized via some efficient ways before just diving into those parameters and playing them endlessly.
