Experiment: texture and colour
For this week's experiment, I chose color and texture, mainly color.
I chose the footage where the two protagonists just appeared on stage. It is the scene with the most people from the TV in the video.
In the footage, it is very coincidental that the characters appear in pairs. In order to express the emotions related to each other, I chose the concept of complementary colors. This is also in line with the concept that the footage is black and white, and it also metaphors the relationship between the protagonist and the opposite. .
In terms of texture, I used a dry brush that is different from the week6 practice, which is closer to the grainy texture of the footage.
Results and discussion: My original intention was to emphasize non-protagonists because they usually don’t make people notice too much in the film. I want to emphasize that they also have emotions, and cleverly, the protagonist is emotionally opposed in the film Yes, but passers-by walk in an intimate form, which contrasts with the mood of the protagonist.
In terms of materials, I am more satisfied with the effect of dry brushes. It is indeed closer to the graininess in film and film, and because the pressure of the pen tip is different during the painting process, some gaps will be generated, and it will not show a difference. The whole block is like a solid color block.
This week’s experiment has very well supported my use of color and brush material in my studio project. I basically use this material brush in all the clips. The color selection is to show the emotional relevance And opposition, I also chose complementary colors to show.
