In week 3, I took the shot in our storyboard to expand-the girl opening the closet and choosing clothes.
In the storyboard, this is a shot from the closet looking out. In the first sequence, I tried to show the action in an elevation shot, opening the closet door and reaching for the clothes, without any extra movements. However, in the story, the girl did not find the clothes she liked in the closet, I thought the whole process could also show the character's mood change through additional performances - from opening the closet happily to choosing hesitantly. I thought it is easier to describe such mood change with a parallel close-up shot. Therefore, in sequence 2, I changed the shot to be parallel to the character. It was more powerful to push open the door of the closet to show the girl's pleasure, then hesitated and reached out to the clothes in the closet. The whole process was more acting and implied the character's mood. But whether this is too girly for an old lady is debatable, and in future iterations I will continue to explore the character's movements and find balance. On the animating side, I took a lesson from last week and cut out some unnecessary frames in the middle, while keeping the frame number of the earrings, hair and clothes of the characters so that their motion is consistent with the nature.
