Try to experiment the movement in TV Paint
Result
After showing the initial version of animatics, Nick suggested that I could do some explorations for the jump, the character could completed covering the blue painting figure; or that blue painting figure could go left so that the character would have more space in the scene.

B: jumps and not covering the figure
C: leaves the frame by jumping
D: leaves the frame by step out and vanishing
Discussion
B and D are okay but quite normal without surprise. A and C are more insteresting as one feels like filling a puzzle and for another one there are more movement in the animation. I decided to combine these two results together. In these experiment, stillness plays an important role as well. The frozen character create a cartoony and playful feeling to the animation peices.
