•In week11, I went back to the particles again. In the test, I used the relation feature in the particle properties. Firstly, I rigged the tentacles to allow them to stretch and rotate. Then I applied a particle system to each of the objects. You can turn off the visibility of the emitted object by enabling the properties in the particles. Still, it is notable that if the visibility of the particle instances is shut down, no particles will appear in the viewport either. The outcome is pretty successful with the credit of previous tests. I created four kinds of particles with different colours and sizes to increase the variety. I also applied this outcome in some cuts where the tentacles show up.
After getting the latest version of the particles, I applied the results to the shots which included the tentacles. It is evident that they improved a lot with the emitted particles. I also slightly adjusted the material and the particles’ size to achieve a staggering effect. By setting up a module, it would be easier to iterate with more kinds of particles. In my future plan I will reduce the size of the spheres, tone down the contrast and increase the number. And the spheres will be replaced by meshes of other shapes.
