In class, Nick gave us an assignment related to stillness. As I worked in this hallway scene, I experimented with the stillness and pause in my animated sequence where the character in the environment is the focus. I added a character into my scene and decided to do something interesting. I decided to make my scene similar to the movie “Lights Out” where the creature appears into the dark. Instead of that I thought about having the creature shown in the light and when the light closes, the character disappears. This gives us tension and fear because we wonder where the character is, whether it’s in front of us or behind us. This task helped me to consider the use of stillness as the creature stands for a long period of time and randomly comes closer.
