Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity

As a creative practitioner, my goal is to become specialized in the field of User Experience Design. I care about how much the target audience enjoy my products.

Reflecting on the content of this class, Illusion of Life, and its concentration on the topic of movement and the play of movement, I decided to take this as a chance to explore the subject of Motion graphic in UX Design.

Currently, there is a surge in need for UX designers with an in-depth skill of motion design in the industry. People have moved on from static UI design. They now want something more engaging and interesting. There have been several predecessors in the field that look into the matter, some of them have written several manifestoes. For example, looking closely at my mood board, the top left picture is about 12 principles of motion in UX design (the articles can be found here). My job, in this case, is to understand all of the laws and apply them to my product. Of course, I won look into this article alone, call it a day and move on. I want to study the views on the topic from several different senior UX designers.

All of the knowledge will be used to improve one of my current projects, Socky. Socky is a mobile application that I created in my first week of MAGI studio 1. The idea of the app is to help people get some value from their single-sock-without-partner (because they lose one of them of course). For example, if you lose a sock, you can just take a picture of the remaining one, post it on the app, put on a small price (or big), then somebody will buy it from you. Overall, even I think that it is not really viable in real life, talking about the shipping cost, etc. But it is still going to be a good opportunity for me to add in motion design and make it a portfolio piece
