IOL WEEK 03_S2_2022
For week 3's exercise on experimenting with timing and space, I created two very short (and rough) animations:
The first animation is a cat licking its paw and suddenly stops to look at the camera as if the viewer is disturbing them. I tried to use adopt the time chart and applied it to how quickly the cat would stop licking and to lower its paw down and lift its head up towards the camera. The result is that I don't think I made the reaction quick or apparent enough. This will be an area to improve in terms of animating the response/reaction to something.
The second short animation plays with space and how shadows can communicate an underlying tone to the scene. I certainly had something a bit more ominous in mind but the result ended up seeming a bit comical. The start is darkness and the door opens to reveal two cats peering in to the room from the light. I think the tone of the scene could be more effective with more refinements and better timing (and even sound). The timing of the door opening definitely needs improvement too.
