Master Of Animation, Games & Interactivity
Aim
In response to the weekly theme, I identified a selection of opposites: birth and death in relation to the card design of the Wheel of Fortune card in my game.
Method
Before starting drawing animations, I list some possible binaries/dualities and opposites, but at last, I chose birth and death because I feel they are the most suitable to be metaphors for fortune. As it is the WHEEL of fortune, I believe there should be a standing wheel in the picture.
The first animation is about birth, a growing fish swimming around the rotating wheel. (Initially, it is a static wheel, later I modified it in version 2 because I believe rotating can give a sense of changing destiny.)
The second animation is about death. It is a swimming fish that dies because of an explosion and becomes a fish angel flying to the sky.
The third animation is a combination of birth and death. A drip brings life and grows a plant, the leaf blooms a fish.
However, the fish is hanged by a hook.
Reflection
I found any moving items in an image will often catch the audience’s eyes compared to other elements in that image. Thus, if I want to let them pay attention to something, I should draw it in dynamics.
