Statement
I attended every IOL class in this semster and I quite enjoy the content in the class especially the lecture part. The animations showed in the lecture give me a lot of inspiration when doing my projects. There are all sort of principles of animation, type of animation and different techniques. Inspired by IOL week 4 exercise, using simple shapes (kind of abstract) to visualize a sound track, I applied similar principles on both my IOL project and studio research project. In addition, during the group work in week 6, I found rhythm plays an important part in animation. A good rhythm make an animation vivid and joyful. On the other side, pause is another expressive way of presenting story.
I am familar with technical stuffs, I've demonstrated Homie some After Effects particle techniques and gave him advice regarding to his projection mapping project. I had a long discussion with Peter about the 3D animation technique and basic theory such as motion capture, the relationship beween 2D animation and 3D animation, how could a 2D animator take the advantage of 3D softwares to produce better works. I gave feedback to Henry regarding to his project and a few tips about using After Effects. I also shared my internship and work application experience with some of my classmate.
I would give myself 12 out of 15 for CoP as some of my weekly exercise were not submitted on time.
