EXPERIMENT I: work with simple lines/scribbles only
EXPERIMENT II: work with simple shapes only
EXPERIMENT III: work with a combination of lines and shapes.
Initially I expected this to be fairly frustrating, but really enjoyed the process and outcome!
My aim was to utilize the tools of Toon Boom harmony in a jarring way, contrary to their intended application. I felt this would encapsulate the nature of my sound perfectly, which I associated with a general feeling of distraught, hysteria. What I didn't anticipate were the ways in which the tools would actively 'break', creating very interesting visual artefacts in the process. I thought this fascinating, and found myself trying to destroy my objects in as many ways possible, playing with deformation of pegs, bones, and the size of my base object. Things started to get really interesting when adding in another layer and applying the same bone deformation keyframes to it. I am super happy with the way the final product turned out!
