The original plan was to get permission to film on-site at RMIT Brunswick Campus; however due to several layers of approval needed, I've decided to go with my backup plan which is to film Heartree in a local park.
Completed a range of activities in preparation for filming Heartree over Weeks 10-11, including:
- Scouting suitable trees at local parks
- Test set up of installation to plan camera shots and angles
- Taking measurements of the tree to cut wires and ropes to length
- Checking the weather forecast for a suitable non-rainy day for filming
- Planning how to run Heartree purely via laptop battery power (and preparing a backup laptop just in case)
- Writing step-by-step instructions on how to set up Heartree
- Storyboarding which shots I need to get as much footage as possible
- Liaising and planning with my filmmaker and friend helping out on the day
