Guest speaker Kathryn Parker discussed her role as technical director for Studio Moshi and the stepping stones that led her into the role.
Parker displayed a variety of her works, ranging from character animation to fart FX and crochet Doctor Who’s. Key animated works included The Day My Butt Went Psycho, Space Chickens in Space, Pacific Heat, Shopkins and an animation test for Curious George.
Parker was very honest about the trials and tribulations she faced entering the animation industry and the current realities for animators, including; studios sinking, animation tests just to pitch for work and the necessity for overseas pre-sales when making an animated series.
