This week, I have been trying out new tools and programs to extend my practice into. The main programs I have been using are Procreate and Adobe Animate.
For animation, I tried using Tv Paint Pro. Something that I liked about it was the painterly aspect of the software. However, because I am used to Adobe programs like Premiere Pro and Photoshop, I currently prefer Animate. The options in Tv Paint Pro feel complex at the moment, and I would like to explore them further. I have also learned how to make GIFs using Procreate, and have made some figures moving using it.
I have tried using Adobe Fresco for these drawings I have posted. Unlike Procreate, I have more options with blending and adjusting lighting. However, the lack of smudge and blur tools is frustrating. Fresco has shown to be valuable in creating 2D characters, whereas Procreate is stronger for making 3D images with more depth, shading and value variations.
