In response to this week’s theme of Character, Environment and Events, I made a 2D animation showing a subconscious memory clip about a dog-like alien and his opponent's past. The video shows their love-hate relationship and what they've been through.

By creating this clip of animation, I showed the shared memories of the two characters come in the form of dreams. Their fragments mingled together, which examine meanings behind characters and their actions as a visualization in the background and transitions.

The characters' past experiences become part of their personalities, prompting them to act against each other, which is included in the animation. Their actions also affect the presentation of the environment. The background is not only a tool to set off the character behind it, it is even integrated with the character and the action of the characters. For example, the theme and characters blended together, or transfer from one to another. The reason I use subconsciousness as the theme is because it also combines many information which can be read and analysis, to get close to the fact. The subject of subconsciousness also incorporates a lot of information that can be read and analyzed. For example, a dream is not only a single event, but a mixture of various contents that are closely related.

Similar work has been produced in series Rick and Morty. In the duration of 1:05 to 1:54 of the clip, Jerry has illusions and fantasies about the relationship between him and Rick, and the situation they are facing. The abstract presentation of subconscious suggests who they are, and something deeper behind the task.
