In response to the theme of "object oriented ontology (OOO)", I created a installation demonstrating how the clouds living in the sky where humans rarely pay attention to.
By creating this installation, I examine the idea of depicting the habits of clouds, I show the characteristic of clouds. In my work, clouds are social animals. They gather to survive, to be involved, and they use their arms bounding theirselves. Wind blows through them, causing them to move and drift slightly, colliding, but still stay together with their companion.
I used some paper straws and paper tapes to structure my installation and put some plastic stripes on the stand to mimic the sky and wind. In the beginning the structure is unstable, so I firmed it with more white glue and tissue paper. You can see that the bottom of the stand is wider, which plays an important role in stability and balance. I used servietten as the main material of the cloud, because I like its characteristics, strong, fibrous, and soft, which also corresponds to the impression of the cloud.
Similar work has been produced by Tomás Saraceno, in his work “Cloudy House: A Geodesic Paper Cloud Installation” there are clouds hanging, these of numerous suspended geometric clouds made from white matte paper along with video, photographic, and sculptural pieces.
