In response to the theme of observation, I made a quick interactive visual called "The Elizabeth Street Hues on 03/03/2022 12:30pm" using Figma. By extracting the silhouettes and hues of the imageries captured, I wanted record the hue and texture of this particular time and space around my home in an angle that I never used before, the ground. Trivial things like the fallen leaves, the sketchy construction marks, and shadows, the trash, they all composed the visual of reality of the moment I saw/ perceived there. It is intriguing to me what would happen if I separate the visual qualities of these images and play around with them. I therefore leveraged the photos of this quantitative observation, extracted the major hues and silhouettes by photo processing software. And through simple interaction, users could create a color sequence by hovering on the texture and pattern. This was a fun and quick experiment that I made in such a short period of time. I wish to have more time to elaborate the idea, by deconstructing more of the visual qualities or even introduce sounds to the experience, or make another visual in another place to compare the difference.
